Program Description
Interested in a rewarding career caring for animals? ACC offers multiple paths for veterinary careers that are always in demand. Students interested in a career in veterinary technology should have an aptitude for general science, math, and biology and demonstrate accurate and professional language and communication skills.
This program is designed to develop the knowledge, understanding, critical thinking skills, and technical abilities required of credentialed veterinary technicians working as integral members of veterinary health care teams.
We offer a concept-based curriculum that helps develop meaningful connections for students as they learn the art and science of veterinary medical technology. Critical thinking and clinical judgment are emphasized in class, lab, simulation and clinical experiences.
Students are admitted under the Associate in General Education Degree as a pre-vet student until they have met the admissions requirements for the VMT Program. Faculty members and Health Program Advisors mentor students as to the courses they should take before formal admission. All developmental requirements may need to be completed before admission or registration into some courses.
