Academic Forgiveness Policy
|
|
Academic forgiveness is awarded on a one-time basis for courses with a grade of “F.” It is designed to give students returning to the College a second chance at successfully completing a degree. Students are eligible for academic forgiveness if they:
- Complete a minimum of 12 credit hours hours at Alamance Community College following the semester(s) in which the “F” grade(s) was/were assigned, with a grade average of “C” or better, and
- Are currently enrolled when requesting academic forgiveness.
Students must send a written request for academic forgiveness to the Vice President for Student Success. Forgiven grades still appear on a student’s official transcript, but they are not calculated into the student’s cumulative GPA.
Academic Forgiveness does not apply to the GPA required to meet the requirements of Satisfactory Academic Progress for federal and state financial aid eligibility.
